New hire Onboarding

A MODERN APPROACH TO NEW DRIVER ORIENTATION

Onboarding new drivers is a critical investment in your company’s long-term success. But if you’re still doing all your driver onboarding and new-hire orientation training in a classroom or conference room, you aren’t getting as much out of that investment as you could.

Whether your new employee is a long-haul truck driver, a delivery driver, or an employee with a company work truck, ITI can provide that initial training to keep them safe.

The Benefits of Online Driver Onboarding

By moving parts of your new-hire training online, you can get new employees working sooner, and drivers on the road quicker. You’ll reduce costs for travel and training, and deliver more effective training, too.

Great delivery, ITI! Your team is great to work with. Selecting your team for our pre-hire driver onboarding process was the right way to go.

Choosing Online vs. In-Person Driver Training

True, some types of training are best done face-to-face. You wouldn’t put an inexperienced driver behind the wheel of a tandem without a check-ride first! But do you really need to bring new hires onsite to train them on your company benefits and fill out HR paperwork?

In-Person Driver Onboarding

Pros:
  • Make a connection with driver.
  • Test skills first-hand.
  • In-depth, hands-on training.
Cons:
  • Pay for driver’s time, food and lodging.
  • Manually enter driver’s training completion into system.
  • Pay to transport driver home.
  • Requires dedicated trainer(s).

Online Orientation

Pros:
  • Automatically assigned through your normal HR process by connecting to Sentix Pro LMS.
  • Driver completes paperwork, online orientation and training at home in a few hours.
  • All your systems are updated once training is completed.
Cons:
  • Best for knowledge courses, safety checks and regulatory training.
  • No such thing as a virtual check-ride. (Yet.)
